Education Projects

Education Projects

Over the years several Education related projects have been created. In general these can be put into two groups:

1. bringing space education to the classroom, either by doing space related activities in schools or by bringing space into the school curriculum.

2. Databases, portals etc. to provide education materials

Inspiring Education

The mandate of the Inspiring Education team is to develop and implement projects to educate young people (Kindergarten to High School students) about space. These projects can range from something simple like a website to starting a space education company and developing educational materials, etc.

InspireSpace

InspireSpace is a novel, grassroots space education program. The program's intent is bidirectional:

1. to inspire members of the global space community to more actively engage the general public

2. to inspire the general public, especially children, through presentations of space topics, to more strongly support space exploration. Members of the space community begin their involvement by pledging to give at least one civic presentation on a space topic of their choice to an audience of their choice.

Space Education - Space Curriculum in schools

Expand space education in schools on an international level by convincing governments and schools to include space curriculum in classrooms. This idea needs to be implemented because there is a lack of space education in schools, especially in developing countries.

NoanGea Education Portal

The NoanGea Portal is a general space-platform. The main topics are Space, E-ducation, OurWorld, technology-transfer and infomation-portal. In all these fields the focus lies on community formation, information transport, interdisciplinarity, formation of pools for information and media and multiple communication.

Education Directory Working Group

The primary goal of this group is to support the UNOOSA Education Directory by maintaining the Education Directory on SEDSWiki. The secondary goal of the group is to maintain the Space Information Archive, a user-edited directory of resources for space-related participation such as organizations, scholarships, and events.
