of course the potential energy of the explosion would have to be calculated plus potential envyromental effects of such an action along with international treaties on the use of such an action, within envyromental protection agency and disaster managment teams

Plate movements are universe's mechanism.

Take the latest tsunami for instance. The length of day is gradually increasing, as speed of earth's diurnal is slowing down due to atmospheric and ocean friction.

The tsunami, be it little, but corrected earths speed. The energy released by it sped up earth, and decreased the length of day by 3 microsec.

Tsunami can have lots of beneficial effects too, lack of total and integrated research is the reason that we are not aware of it. Editing the tsunami mechanism without knowing them may be dangerous. UNIVERSE LABORATORY has taken caring these little known aspects.

I know this comment will not be much welcome, because it stands partially against anthropic view of correcting the universe, and winning all conflicts. But, with my knowledge, I feel that conflicting with universe is no answer, we have to interact with it.

A possible solution for tsunami can be: Not staying close to seashore, and/or using thick mangrove vegetation.

The latest tsunami hit south eastern asia. Let's take two countries for example: India and Indonesia.

In eastern India, the waves came through bay of bengal. The SUNDARBAN [mangrove forest in India & Bangladesh]absorbed it totally.

In southern India, there was no mangrove, or mangrove was cleared of, and it washed of Kallapakkam Nuclear Power center.

Indonesia: They cleared all mangrove to make tourist spots, and you know what happened in Sumatra.

I know this sounds like too environmentalist, but this is the only way. Now you guys can go on finding and evaluating efficiency.

SO plant thick mangroves in the shore, and build up cities away from it.
