MISSION

- Address key issues of public relations for SGAC and improve international communications between young space activists, developing in-house expertise and tools for communication, promotion, and media.

GOALS at SGC
------------------------------------------------------
- Produce stock of raw high-quality materials to be used for future PR products (photographs, quotes, video/audio clips, etc.)
- Provide training and/or have speaker to give professional-level basics of PR (writing, video, photography, etc.)
- Produce an annual PR Product to support the SGAC PR Team Mission, which will have a crucial stage of collaboration occur during SGC; 2007 Product: 3-5 minute promotional video describing SGC and SGAC to be posted on SGAC/SGC and video sharing websites, and to be distributed to sponsors and supporters

ONGOING PR Project Team Goals/Actions

- Innovate, develop, and implement new ways to promote SGAC (blogs, podcasts, videos, commercials, pop magazines, etc.)
- Recruit new people to SG Talk list
- Create sustained relationships with media outlets
- Support other Project Teams by disseminating their information
- Sustain at least one PR Team contact in each Region
- Send out monthly newsletter press releases with paragraph updates from all RCs (who contact and collect from NPoCs) with paragraph of their actions, or space news from their regions
- Recruit new NPoCs for un-represented countries and countries with inactive NPoCs
- Get to know our current members and their affiliations by creating database where members can login and submit info on their location, affiliations, status, etc. and whether we can contact them as a connection to their affiliated companies, schools, organizations, countries, etc.
- Send out quarterly press releases with outstanding updates from RCs/NPoCs and Project Leaders (MMWs, YN, and new ones)
- Create and maintain a global space youth event calendar, to which groups and RCs/NPoCs can submit events
- Watch global youth trends for potential space tie-ins that can be developed into Products
- Compile a SGAC Start Up Pack, which will include information for initiating SGAC activity in countries with new NPoCs who want to start a national space youth network
- Create a SGAC Style Guide for reference so that all parties creating public content will produce uniform and professional-style text
- Create internships in space agencies’ and companies’ PR offices and place SGAC PR team members to help them reach youth
- Maintain contact with space agencies’ and companies’ PR offices to create youth consultant service for them from SGAC
