Welcome to the Students Reaching Students work group. We're going to have a lot of work cut out for us this year. It should be, possibly, your first experience in setting up a prize foundation. Sound exciting? Remember, SpaceShipOne flew because the Ansari X Prize Foundation was set up by Peter Diamandis.

Please sign on to this group if you (in no particular order):
1) have experience with prize foundations, or want to try to start one.
2) have connections with potential prize funding-sources :)
3) want to help give an award in India at the SGC 2007!
4) need a project to help you get picked for the SGC 2007.
5) have ideas on what criteria to base a space-outreach award on.
6) want to meet the friends you'll meet in Hyderabad almost a full year early.

Please start by posting your name, the contact info you're comfortable with sharing (no phone numbers yet), where you go to school/work, and your country and city. Add your favorite pastry too.

Let's have fun, all!

Hy....sorry for being late

Hi everyone,

Name: Amit Vishwas
University: National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal INDIA
Pursuing B.Tech in Information Technology. Presently in 4th semester.

I owe a lot to Astronomy in how I see myself today as...
Seriously thinking to switch over as a full time science graduate after undergrad engineering.
Unluckily the educational system in India is not as flexible as abroad, but one is always free to follow the heart.
Would love to return in all possible measures to the Universe !! :)

Keithe

Hey guys,

My name is Keithe, and it seems like I'm the only girl on the forum so far so that's fun. I go to Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts majoring in Aerospace Engineering, graduating in May.

I'll be at Boston University in the fall during the conference for grad school, and I'm excited to be involved with a group like this. I've done alot of outreach work as an undergraduate so hopefully Ill be able to bring some of my experiences to the table. I've never had the opportunity to set up a prize foundation but if it gives students more incentive to get into the schools to raise awareness about space, I'm all about it.

Sorry to post so late but hopefully we'll be able to crank some great ideas out before the conference!
