SGAC is looking for a motivated, self-driven Social Media Lead who executes vision with excellence and professionalism in a global context. This position offers challenging, rewarding and professional skill-building experience, and is a great opportunity to work on products with high visibility across the SGAC network, partners and supporters.

Responsibilities


The Social Media Lead will work under the guidance of the SGAC PR and Communications Coordinators and focus on:

  • SGAC Social Media Channels

    • Coordinate with the SGAC PR and Communication Coordinators edit and promote news, events, opportunities pertinent to SGAC activities

    • Ensure brand consistency, high quality posts and tailored language for each platform (SGAC website, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram)

    • Work and integrate with Strategic Communications to execute delivery of SGAC message across all social media platforms

    • Work with graphics editors to ensure professional quality product

  • Community Management

    • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions

    • Plan content and delivery using tools like Hootsuite to manage multiple social media channels

    • Develop and manage competitions and campaigns that promote the organisation and brand

    • Distribute news about SGAC activities to different partner organisations of SGAC

    • Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms

  • General duties

    • Answering emails in a timely fashion from Event Managers and SGAC PR and Communications Coordinators

    • Assist with design and development of other SGAC related material, as appropriate

Qualifications


  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of appointment

  • Driven and motivated for excellence to illustrate the best of SGAC to a global professional audience in written format

  • Reactive and motivated for creative and diversified posting

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate in an international team as this position requires working with every region in the world

  • Past experience with SGAC team is a plus

  • Excellent English skills, good computer skills, and speedy email response time

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or similar/related software

  • Some skills in the use of editing and/or graphic design software are preferable. These may include one or more of, but are not limited to Adobe CC (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar

  • Experience with Hootsuite is a plus

  • Previous experience with social media campaigns is a plus
