Bio
Born in Lima, Perú. Aeronautical Engineering studies at the Riga’s Institute of Civil Aviation, Riga, Latvia (former USSR). Graduation as 'Master of Science' (M.Sc.). Post-studies in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (Technische Universität München), Germany.
Currently working as a Research Associate at the German Space Operations Center (GSOC) of the German Space Agency (DLR). At GSOC his main activity is the work on Payload Operations Coordination for the European Space Agency’s Columbus project. As Payload Coordinator, he is involved in the preparation process for the onboard Operations of the Columbus Module and European and American Payloads related activities on the International Space Station (ISS).
He is member of the ESA's Flight Control Team and Increment 17 Ops Coordinator Lead. He worked supporting operations of Russian Soyuz missions from 2004 till 2006 and Joint Shuttle Flight missions (i.e. STS 122-ESA Flight 1E Mission, STS 123-1J/A Flight, STS 124-1J Flight).
Martín is Regional Coordinator for South America and the National Point of Contact for Peru within the framework of the United Nations Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) in Support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications.
He is also member of the Latin American Space Association (ALE) and currently coordinating the SGAC Latin American Working Group.
