Bio
My interest in humankind’s space endeavors grew out of my father’s stories of the Apollo flights when I was a child. I have since cultivated a deep interest in Space Systems Engineering, and have dedicated myself to Space Sciences, with the ultimate goal of becoming an Astronaut. But I see this only as a means to an end. As an Astronaut, I see myself as the medium between the ideas of Space Scientists and my generation’s dreams of a better, healthier, happier tomorrow. Thus, I see myself working on behalf of the whole family of Space Explorers – right from Designers, to Systems engineers, to Mission control – in channeling the creative energy of Space research into peaceful applications for the betterment of the planet.
Apart from being a Space geek, I am a Indian Classical Dancer. I have received the Highest Honor, National President Award titled 'BalaShree' from the President of India in 1999,for excellence in dance. My hobbies also include Skating,Riding SportsBikes, Philately, Dance Chorepgraphy, gyming, rock climbing and many more.
